Appointments - Office Hours
Whether you have been referred to us or are just seeking answers to your questions we are glad to help. Obtaining information on your particular situation is a crucial beginning. Fertility Institute of Virginia understands that you have a lot of considerations during your search for the right practice to help you with understanding an IVF/GIFT program.

Due to the sensitive nature of your request we can not communicate with you by e-mail but are readily available by phone. All information contained on this site is available for public use and we hope you now have an informational overview of our services which may help you make a logical decision to contact us regarding your special conditions and needs. We are dedicated professionals in our field, trained and experienced in helping you through the options available to you and your partner in a sensitive and humane manner. Please use the contact information to the left for assistance on locations, phone numbers and emergency care.

Appointments are made by calling (804) 379-9000 during office hours which are 9 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday and by doctor referrals. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please advise us as soon as possible so that we may reschedule your visit. Our office is open five days a week, again hoping to make your health care more accessible.

Non-Emergency Calls
Between visits we invite you to call our office with questions regarding your care. Whenever possible, please call during office hours. Our staff members are trained to answer many of your questions. Your doctor will return calls between patient appointments and after office hours.
Emergencies
In the event of an emergency during office hours, please call our office directly. After hours or on weekends, please call (804) 379-9000 and you will be given further information on reaching our Doctors' Exchange. Dr. Steingold or Dr. Edelstein will be on-call for all emergencies.

Hospital Care
If you require hospital care, we will make arrangements for your admission. Any business matters regarding payment of the hospital account are customarily discussed with the Hospital Admitting Office at the time of admission. Since the hospital and our practice are separate business organizations, bills will be submitted from each.
Insurance
Our practice participates with many insurance plans. As a member of an HMO, POS or PPO your charges may not be covered without the appropriate referral. Therefore, it is necessary to bring this with you at the time of your appointment.

As a convenience to you, you may request our office to submit charges for services to your insurance company. In order for us to file for any insurance, we need a copy of your insurance card. In addition, we will request a copy of your driver's license. The filing of your charges with your insurance carrier is provided as a courtesy to our patients.

Payment for Services
Fees charged are based on the skill, time and equipment required for the given service. To help keep medical costs down, we request you pay routine charges and co-payments at the time services are rendered. Unfortunately, some infertility treatments are not covered by many insurers. In these cases, the patient will be responsible for payment at the time the services are provided. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact our Office Manager, Pattie Carson.
Locations
Our main office is located at 10710 Midlothian Turnpike, Suite 331 in the Crestar Chesterfield Headquarters. The Crestar building is adjacent to Johnston-Willis Hospital on the corner of Midlothian Turnpike and Johnston-Willis Drive.

We also have an office at 5855 Bremo Road, Suite 306 located in the North Medical Office Building, adjacent to St. Mary's Hospital on the corner of Monument Avenue and Bremo Road.

Take 1-64 West to 1-95 South,
Take 3rd exit, Downtown Expressway 195 to Powhite Parkway, Route 76,
Exit at Midlothian Turnpike, Route 60 West.
Go two miles (7th traffic light) and turn right onto Johnston-Willis Drive.
1st left after passing Nations Bank - see Suntrust Building.
